A stunning location (an Ordnance Survey Map Viewpoint), this 150 year old, tastefully modernised, coastal Hebridean Cottage is just 200 yards from the shore in a quiet and secluded bay on the Sleat Peninsula towards the Southern end of Skye. In its own 3 acre wild garden, the uninterrupted panoramic view across the Sound of Sleat to the mainland is magnificent with the mountain range dominated by the peaks of Ben Screel to the North, Knoydart and Mallaig to the East and Ardnamurchan to the South.

All the principal rooms including the three bedrooms, (all three with their own facilities) overlook the sea. Visitors can watch passing ships, observe abundant wildlife,( 42 species of birds recently seen) and in the bay view seals, dolphins, and the occasional otter. Extremely well equipped and very comfortable, this spacious property is an ideal holiday retreat. Here visitors can relax in the ground floor observation room with its two ceiling to floor picture widows, and new for 2003 an additional facility, the first floor observatory "The Otter Bar" watching the ever changing light on the Sound of Sleat. More energetically, visitors can enjoy beautiful coastal and hill walks from the front door.
Downstairs: (1) external door to porch. (2) Hall with telephone and attractive curved staircase,
(3) Sitting/dining room with TV, video, drop-leaf table, lounge and dining chairs and open fire. (4)Observation room with comfortable seating, binoculars. (5)Large kitchen with double oven, ceramic hob, microwave, sink units, ample storage cupboards, numerous utensils, dishes and cookery books, dining table, six chairs, telephone, TV. (6)Utility room with fridge/freezer, additional sink, washing machine, spin drier, dishwasher, external door to secluded patio. (7)Large sitting room with good quality stereo/CD system. Many CD's, tapes, and extensive library,and TV (8)Close by is downstairs cloakroom with hand wash basin and toilet.( 9)Outstanding ground floor double bedroom with large windows overlooking the sea, solid oak floor and (10) leading to beautifully appointed ensuite shower room. (11) Additional entrance with little hall and beech wood spiral staircase to (12) "The Otter Bar" with small fridge to chill the bubbly, and coffee and tea making facilities.
Upstairs: (13) Double bedroom with (14) Ensuite bathroom/toilet (electric shower over hath), (15) twin bedded room with adjoining (16)Shower room/toilet.

Electric radiators in all rooms except utility and full double glazing including front and back doors, makes for a very warm and welcoming cottage.

Outside: Garden furniture, Patios front and rear, barbecue and croquet.

A gourmets delight, there are three "Taste of Scotland" restaurants within 6 miles, all serving local seafood. Boat trips from Armadale pier (3 miles) across to the Old Forge in Knoydart, the most remote pub in Europe, or to Mallaig where ferries can be taken to the Small Isles of Eigg, Rum or Muck. Historic Armadale Castle, the clan home of the MacDonalds with its Heritage Centre, gardens, and tea room is a short drive. Toravaig Hotel serves food 1 mile; village shop 4 miles; supermarket 12 miles.
